Airport Transfers
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport departure transfer will arrive at the airport at 08.00 on Day 21.
  • London Gateways: Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It's that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
  • Important Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
  • You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
  • Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
  • Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
  • Heathrow Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-21.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by coach. Gatwick Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-12.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by express train and coach. Transfers outside these times will be at the passengers own expense.
  • In the event of unforeseen events (Road or rail works, demonstrations, strikes) Trafalgar will not be held responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.
  • Why not upgrade to a Hotelink transfer from the Airport to-the-door of your Trafalgar London hotel? (Please ask your travel agent of the additional upgrade price per person when booking)
  • European Gateways: With Trafalgar all passengers will receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on the scheduled arrival and departure day of their tour at the times specified below. Please ensure your Travel Agent reserves your flight to co-ordinate with the transfer times shown.
  • Trafalgar Bonus Passengers who book Trafalgar's Land+Air package and who arrive or depart outside of these specified times on the scheduled arrival and departure day of the tour will also be provided with a transfer.
  • Passengers arriving before or leaving after the scheduled tour days are not entitled to a transfer but may book and purchase one through Trafalgar providing that they also purchase the additional pre and/or post tour hotel night(S) from Trafalgar. Please ask for prices of transfers at the time of booking your extra night accommodation.
  • Land only passengers arriving or departing on the scheduled tour arrival or departure days but whose flights don't coincide with the listed transfer times below may also book and purchase these transfers. Flight details must be provided to Trafalgar not less than 21 days before the flight departure.
Free London Return
Passengers on the 'Land only' option may return to London by Trafalgar motorcoach at NO EXTRA CHARGE, instead of departing from Paris. Accommodation will be required, as arrival in London is late afternoon/early evening. Ask your Travel Agent to book this for you.

Day 3LondonMany major sights are included on our morning sightseeing tour. Then enjoy time on your own to explore this exciting city. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4AmsterdamGreetings from our Tour Director as we drive to Dover. Admire the White Cliffs on our Channel crossing to Calais in France. We drive through Belgium en route to lively Amsterdam, where an orientation tour shows us the Mint Tower and Dam Square. Later we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our Tour Director and then we have a wonderful introduction to this city with our included canal cruise in our glass topped boat. Day 5FrankfurtA morning visit to a diamond polishing and cutting factory starts off the day. Next we head into Germany, past Arnhem, stopping at Cologne to see its gothic Cathedral. Then we travel via Bonn to Boppard for our Rhine cruise past castles and vineyards to St. Goar. Finally, on to our hotel in Rhineland for dinner and overnight stay. Day 6EngelbergOur first stop is at Heidelberg, to view the castle. Next we make our way to medieval Strasbourg where an orientation shows us the Cathedral. Then we enjoy a scenic drive through Alsace vineyards to the Swiss border at Basel and the resort of Engelberg for two nights. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Schweizerhof (2 nights)
Day 7LucerneIt's only a short drive to nearby Lucerne. Here we have an orientation of this town including a visit to the Lion Monument, built in memory of Louis XVI's Swiss Guard and the Chapel Bridge. Later, there's time at leisure perhaps to scale a Swiss mountain by cable car and shop for delicious chocolates before we return to Engelberg! (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 8InnsbruckWe pass the Walensee en route to the Principality of Liechtenstein, stopping in the capital Vaduz. Then we cross the border into Austria and follow the Arlberg route into the Tyrol and Innsbruck. During our orientation tour our Tour Director introduces us to a Hidden Treasure! Day 9VeniceToday we drive over the 620 foot-high Europa Bridge and Brenner Pass into Italy. Next, we travel through the foothills of the Dolomites to magical Venice. This evening maybe enjoy a gondola serenade along the canals of Venice, listening to Italian melodies! (Buffet Breakfast)Hotel: Novotel Castellana (2 nights)
Day 10VeniceWe discover this Byzantine city on an included canal cruise by private motor launch to St. Mark's Square. We'll view the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges' Palace before visiting a glass-blowing factory. Then free time to shop, explore or cruise to the island of Burano for a seafood lunch. Day 11RomeToday we leave the plains of the Veneto and drive into the Apennine hills past Bologna, into Tuscany and Umbria. Soon we are in the Latium en route to Rome, the 'Eternal City'. Tonight, why not experience a little of 'La Dolce Vita'? (Buffet Breakfast)Hotel: Diana (2 nights)
Day 12RomeToday's sightseeing with a local guide using our effective audio system, includes a visit to St. Peter's Basilica where we see Michelangelo's Pieta, then we cross the Tiber to see the Forum, the mighty Colosseum and to overlook the Circus Maximus where the chariot races took place in the past. Then perhaps visit the Sistine Chapel or relax over a long and lazy lunch! (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 13SorrentoAn early start through the vineyards of Frascati and into the province of Campania. We reach Naples and embark on our cruise to the Isle of Capri. Here we ascend to Capri town by funicular and enjoy a guided walking tour enhanced by our audio system before a stop at the Piazzetta to enjoy some free time. We also visit some of the gardens and view the Faraglioni Rocks. Then we take our ferry to Sorrento a clifftop summer resort, for the night. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Parco del Sole
Day 14AssisiOff to Pompeii where a walking tour with a local guide takes us around the excavations. Then past the Abbey of Monte Cassino we reach the Umbrian hills and Assisi, St. Francis' town. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Il Castello
Day 15FlorenceA morning orientation shows us the Basilica of St. Francis with its frescoes by Giotto. Next we're off to Renaissance Florence via the lake of Trasimeno. On our arrival a walking tour with a local guide, features the Duomo, Piazza Signoria and a visit to the Basilica of Santa Croce. See how leather is embossed with gold, with time to shop for leather and gold. We also make a stop at Piazzale Michelangelo, for breathtaking views of this city. Day 16NiceOur first stop is at Pisa to see its Leaning Tower. Then we pass the quarries of Carrara and drive along the Motorway of Flowers via Genoa, to Nice. Later, we sample the high life on a visit to the Principality of Monaco where we see the Monte Carlo Casino before we enjoy dinner in a French restaurant. Day 17NiceWe drive along sparkling shores to fashionable Cannes. Then into the hills, we stop at medieval St Paul de Vence where another Hidden Treasure is revealed to us. Next we visit a local perfumery before returning to Nice. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 18LyonAlong the highway past Aix-en-Provence to arrive in the papal city of Avignon on the river Rhone. Time to admire the broken bridge as well as the magnificent Papal palace before we head to Lyon the ancient capital of Gaul. Here orientation shows us the Fourvière hill and the Place Bellecour one of the largest squares in France. Tonight, we enjoy dinner in a typical French restaurant. Day 19ParisToday's drive takes us along the Rhone Valley on our way to charming Beaune. From here we travel through the wine-producing Burgundy region to Paris for two nights with the chance to take in an exciting Parisian cabaret! (Buffet Breakfast)Hotel: Novotel Tour Eiffel (2 nights)
Day 20ParisToday's guided sightseeing tour features a drive along the Champs Elysees from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe, the ascent of the Eiffel Tower to the second level by elevator, plus views of Notre Dame and the ornate Alexander III bridge. This evening , we join our Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner. (Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)
Day 21Return USABid farewell this morning as we transfer to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport for our return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast)
