The stunning Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most impressive in the world. Located in the Glaciares National Park, it is one of 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. The glacier makes its slow, torturous advance down through the mountains before crashing into the icy waters of Lago Argentino - the biggest lake in Argentina. Over 30 kilometres in length and covering an area of 250 square kilometres, it is one of the few glaciers in the world that is not yet retreating. It is a magical experience to absorb the majesty of the place with the eerie silence occasionally broken by the shattering sound of the glacier face calving and crashing into the frigid waters. It is a rare opportunity to witness such awesome displays of nature.
